Laser assisted in situ keratomileusis, commonly referred to as LASIK, is a corrective alternative to glasses or contact lenses for certain patients. Autorefractor Provides an accurate, objective assessment of what prescription the eyes need.


Autofield Give a computerized map of the visual field. This instrument is very important in diagnosing and treating glaucoma and assessing field loss due to stroke and brain tumors, to name a few.


Airpuff Tonometer Automated instrument that measures pressure in the eye without using drops.


Digital Fundus Camera Takes digital pictures of the inside of the eye and stores them on the computer. This instrument is essential for documenting changes in the eye due to glaucoma, diabetes, and macular degeneration.


Pachymeter Provides ultrasound measurement of the corneal thickness. This is extremely useful in glaucoma management.


HRT Scanning laser that images the retina. One of the newest instruments used to evaluate changes in the optic nerve due to glaucoma.


GDX Another scanning laser that images the optic nerve in a different way and assesses the likelihood of the nerve being glaucomatous.


OCT Optical Coherence Tomography: Scanning laser of the optic nerve, retina, and anterior segment for early detection of ocular disease.
